Since I can remember, I’ve always been a dreamer. I live more in my interior world than in the exterior reality. My interior state consists of dreams, thoughts, and imagination; while the exterior is the physical form manifested. Often, I can feel detached from my surroundings and experience the physical realm as an illusionary fabric. My imagination surpasses logic and tradition, which connects me to the dream state where I forget about material concerns and can live from a place of pure creativity. I’m more interested in the creative process than in mere documentation. I prefer to work from a place of intuition and feeling rather than logic and rational thinking.
I want to explore the subconscious and merge the conscious. I’m inspired by the intangible, chaos, dreams, and time; life questions that don’t always have answers, but I often contemplate. I have a desire to explore the metaphysical question, “what is real?” By using both the conscious and the subconscious, I can dispose the barriers of reason and tradition that we have been condition to, and form a broader understanding of perceiving reality. The exploration of my dreams and unconscious mind, removes any limitations that the conscious mind creates, and in this space, I can bridge the rational and the fantastical into one a super reality. My work is grounded in the belief that there’s an underlying connection that we all share.
